CLASSES & ENSEMBLES

Our group classes and ensembles are a great addition to private lessons. They can help students focus on specific skills and reach their personal musical goals. The classes evolve depending on our students' needs. Please check back here for our class offerings at the beginning of each trimester (spring-January, summer-June, fall-August). Get on our email list so you don't miss the start of classes!

PIANO LAUNCHPAD

Instructor: Taylor Schmidt

Description: This is a fun class to introduce students to making music at the piano/keyboard. Practicing outside of class is not required.

Schedule: February 5 - May 21; Wednesdays 4:15-5:15

PRE-TWINKLE VIOLIN

Instructor: Sierra Sims-Smith

Description: In this class, we will go over proper violin position, bow hold, posture, learning to play on open strings, and eventually with fingers. Private lessons may not be required for the first trimester, however they are strongly encouraged. The combination of group and private will aid your child in learning more efficiently.

Practicing at home as well as listening to the Suzuki violin recordings is an integral part of the class. A parent must attend with their child so they know what needs to be practiced at home.

This class is for beginners who are interested in learning to play the violin or those who have just begun lessons.

Schedule: February 11 - April 1; Tuesdays 4:15p - 5:00p

KEYBOARD SKILLS OLYMPIAD

Instructor: Piano Faculty

Description: The Keyboard Skills Olympiad encourages students to master fundamental keyboard skills. Students enrolled in piano lessons, from the earliest beginner through advanced levels, can collect Gold, Silver, and Bronze seals in this event. The students will prepare from one to eight items with their teachers, and be evaluated by one of the MANC piano faculty. As students earn more Gold seals, from one Olympiad event to the next, they become eligible for additional awards.

An extensive list of these skills includes items such as identifying notes and key signatures and playing scales, arpeggios, triads, and chord progressions. This event will be offered several times each year.

Schedule: Saturday, February 15, 10:00a - 12:00p

Fee: $20 for 1-8 skills
