Our group classes and ensembles are a great addition to private lessons. They can help students focus on specific skills and reach their personal musical goals. The classes evolve depending on our students' needs. Please check back here for our class offerings at the beginning of each trimester (spring-January, summer-June, fall-August). Get on our email list so you don't miss the start of classes!

The Keyboard Skills Olympiad encourages students to master fundamental keyboard skills. Students enrolled in piano lessons, from the earliest beginner through advanced levels, can collect Gold, Silver, and Bronze seals in this event. The students will prepare from one to eight items with their teachers, and be evaluated by one of the MANC piano faculty. As students earn more Gold seals, from one Olympiad event to the next, they become eligible for additional awards.
An extensive list of these skills includes items such as identifying notes and key signatures and playing scales, arpeggios, triads, and chord progressions. This event will be offered several times each year.

This fun and interactive group piano class introduces children to the joy of making music at the piano. Students will learn the basics of rhythm, note reading, hand position, and musical expression through games, movement, and ensemble playing.
The small group setting encourages teamwork, listening, and creativity, helping each child build confidence and musical skills from the very first lesson.
Students should have a keyboard at home to prepare assignments with a parent.
These group classes accompany private lessons in order to increase educational opportunities, provide inspiration, give students a chance to collaborate, and further their musical connections.
Voice students gather to perform for peers and faculty. Students get the opportunity to receive feedback and instruction from other voice teachers as they practice performance techniques in a mini-masterclass format. Additional topics related to music performance and study may also be presented.

The Music Academy is proud to partner with Gate City Musikgarten who offers a sequential music education program for children birth through age 11.
