CAPITAL CAMPAIGN
Have you heard?! We purchased the building and are now the proud owners of 1327 Beaman Place! Through generous donations, including monumental gifts made by the Murphy Family, we raised $1.16 million dollars in just over a year.

LAURA KATHRYN HOLLEY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The Music Academy of North Carolina lost one of its most influential leaders and dear friends unexpectedly in 2018, Laura Kathryn Holley. She joined our piano faculty in 1993 and over the next nineteen years she profoundly and intentionally worked our mission as a teacher, Development Director, Associate Director, and Executive Director. While she inspired us in so many ways, her passion for creating musical opportunity for students of all ages, interests, abilities, and backgrounds, including those with developmental challenges and demonstrated financial need, fueled her work. Therefore, to honor Laura’s memory, we are pleased to announce that a student scholarship fund has been established in her name.
The Laura Kathryn Holley Memorial Scholarship Fund will be restricted to The Music Academy’s Lessons for Life Outreach Program. The fund is established to support one of The Music Academy’s core values of making our lessons and programs available to all. The Lessons for Life Outreach Program provides financial assistance for private music lessons and fully subsidizes high quality performances, instrument demonstrations, and music programs to those with demonstrated financial need, learning differences, or physical limitations. The scholarship fund will be administered by the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro.
To make a tax-deductible gift to the Laura Kathryn Holley Memorial Scholarship Fund, a check may be mailed to The Music Academy with “LKH Fund” in the memo line. When making a donation using the button below, donors may include “LKH Fund” in the comment section.
DR. IVAN BATTLE SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT
The Music Academy was founded in 1982 by Dr. Ivan Battle in response to the need for a community music school that offered exceptional music education in a structured, well-paced course of study. Starting out with just three teachers and 20 students, today MANC has 36 instructors and about 400 students from the Piedmont and surrounding areas.
In 1994, The Music Academy administration and board of directors decided to establish an endowment in Dr. Battle’s name after his death. It serves to honor his strong passion for the school's mission of offering exceptional music education to students from a wide variety of socioeconomic backgrounds. The funds are housed at the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro, and approximately 5% of the investment yields are awarded each year as scholarships.
To make a tax-deductible gift to the Dr. Ivan Battle Scholarship Endowment, a check may be mailed to The Music Academy with “Battle Endowment” in the memo line. When making a donation using the button below, donors may include “Battle Endowment” in the comment section.
PLANNED GIVING
